JOIN US for a Basic Needs Drive Party at KEXP  from 10am-6pm on Friday, November 15th! We will be collecting donations of socks, clothing, toiletries for youth in need from 10am – 6pm in KEXP’s parking lot at 113 Dexter Ave South (between Denny and John Streets).  KEXP’s basic needs drive is a compliment to their annual Food Drive with Food Lifeline, collecting food donations at the KEXP office form Nov 8th-22nd.

“KEXP is delighted to be presenting our annual food drive again this year with Food Lifeline, it’s a great tradition and one that we have expanded this year by partnering with Teen Feed.” said Leon Berman host of KEXP’s Shake the Shack, KEXP’s rockabilly, rhythm and blues program. “Our new one day Basic Needs drive is especially important; it allows homeless teens a chance to register with the Washington Health Benefit Exchange, truly a step forward in helping all our communities in the Puget Sound region. We hope to see many people, donors and teens alike, visit KEXP on November 15 to support this new initiative.”

You supply the basic needs items, KEXP DJs will supply the music, and Teen Feed volunteers will supply a treat! A food truck will be on hand if you want to hang around and have lunch with us. We will also be offering flu shots and healthcare enrollment for the youth we serve.  Don’t miss this fun community event to help young people stay safe and warm this winter. Basic needs items include:

TOILETRIES – Travel size easily fit in backpacks:  toothbrushes, toothpaste, razors, shaving cream, deodorant, chapstick, face care, hand sanitizer, lotion, sunscreen, shampoo and conditioner, shower gel and more.
